Make a capability doc for a client or an offering

2 MIN READ

To make a capability doc, pick Capability doc and say what it is on and who it is for. Brand Stori builds it from your company's brain, so it carries your own offerings, partnerships, clients and results, not generic claims.

Before you start

Your brain needs to be built, and it should hold proof for the offering you are writing about. If your first documents didn't cover it, an admin can add a relevant case study or deck from the Sources tab first.

Make it

  1. Choose Capability doc. The box fills with "Build a capability document on".
  2. Name the offering, and the situation. For example: "Build a capability document on our AWS migration work, for a mid-size insurer's CIO". Saying the industry and the buyer lets it choose the proof that fits them.
  3. Answer any questions. If something important is missing, it asks before it builds.
  4. Let it build. It pulls the clients, results and partnerships in your brain that match, in your brand.

Make it for one client

A capability doc for a specific client is the same steps with the client named: "…for the head of data at [client name]". Use Account research first if you want what is public about that client gathered for you.

Change and send it

Ask for changes in plain words, such as "lead with the insurance results" or "add a page on our partnership". Each change is a version you can go back to from History. Then export it, for example as a PDF, or share it as a link and see who read it.

GOOD TO KNOWBrand Stori never invents a number or a client. If your brain has no proof for a combination, such as an offering in an industry you haven't sold into, it uses the nearest real proof it has instead of making something up. If you want a client's name left out, ask for that in your request or edit it afterwards; names are not hidden automatically.Capability docs are on every plan, Solo included.
